Awareness Against Human Trafficking (HAART), is a non-governmental organisation based in Nairobi
and dedicated to fighting human trafficking in Eastern Africa. HAART works through a
multi-disciplinary approach applying the UN Four P’s Strategy to combat trafficking in persons:
Prevention, Protection, Prosecution, Policy and Partnership. HAART is one of the key
Counter-Trafficking Organisations in Kenya addressing the issue of Human Trafficking by supporting
the people most affected by it and also developing best practices in the movement.
HAART is currently implementing a Project: “ From victims of human trafficking to successful
entrepreneurs. Enhancing business skills of entrepreneurs – survivors of human trafficking in
Kenya” a project seeking the enhancement of the business skills of entrepreneurs-survivors of human
trafficking in Kenya.
In view of the foregoing, HAART is recruiting an External Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. We seek a
dedicated and experienced External Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to assess and monitor
the progress of businesses started by survivors of human trafficking. The M&E Officer will play a
crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and sustainability of these businesses. The Officer will work
closely with the senior management, internal departments and our external agency.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
● Develop and implement a comprehensive M&E framework tailored to the needs of
businesses started by survivors of human trafficking.
● Conduct field visits to assess the progress, challenges, and impacts of the businesses.
● Collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate the economic, social, and
psychological outcomes for the survivors.
● Prepare detailed M&E reports, including key findings, lessons learned, and actionable
recommendations.
● Collaborate with project staff to ensure that M&E findings are integrated into program
planning and improvement.
● Provide capacity-building support to project staff and beneficiaries in M&E practices.
● Ensure ethical standards and confidentiality are maintained throughout the evaluation
process.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a
related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
● Minimum of 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in programs
related to human trafficking, social enterprise, or livelihoods.
● Proven experience in designing and implementing M&E frameworks and tools.
● Strong analytical skills and experience in data collection and analysis.
● Excellent report writing and communication skills.
● Ability to work independently and travel to project sites as required.
● Cultural sensitivity and experience working with vulnerable populations.
● Knowledge of local languages and context is an advantage.
