RE: VACANCY IN THE DIRECTORATE OF ALCOHOLIC DRINKS CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT.

Pursuant to Section 5 (3) (a) of the Nyeri County Alcoholic Drinks Control and Management Act 2024, we wish to recruit a resident of the County for the Membership to County Alcoholic Drinks Regulation Committee,

1. MEMBER OF THE COUNTY LIQUOR COMMITTEE (1 POST)

1. Youth representative (one vacancy)

Duties and Responsibilities

a) Approving applications and issuing licenses in accordance with Act

b) Perform such other functions as may, from time to time be assigned by the Governor

Requirements

1. Be a Kenyan Citizen. And resident of Nyeri. County
2. Possess at least an academic certificate from a tertiary institution recognized in Kenya;
3. Has knowledge and relevant experience in community service or social work; and
4. Meets the requirements of leadership and integrity set out in chapter six of the Constitution.

Eligibility

No persons shall be eligible to be appointed as a Member of the County or Sub County Alcoholic Drinks Control Regulation Committee under section 5(3) a and 7(3) (a and i) respectively of the Act, if such person is:-aJ

1. The holder of any license for the sale, manufacture or distillation of an alcoholic drink.
2. A person having a pecuniary interest in partnership, company or society interested which is a licensee.
3. A paid officer or paid agent of a partnership, company or society interested in the ale or in the prevention of the sale, of alcoholic drink.
4. A person employed directly or indirectly as an agent for the purposes of making application for a license for any other person, or any partner of a person so employed as an agent
5. An agent of manager of, or a partner in, any trade or calling carried upon premises licensed, or in respect of which a license has been applied for, or the owner, lessor or Mortgagee of those premises.
6. An undischarged bankrupt.
7. A person who, in Kenya or elsewhere, has been sentenced to imprisonment without the option of a fine ad who has not received a pardon there of.

All applications should reach the County Secretary’s office at the County Headquarters on or before 10th July 2024 at 5:00P.M.
