• Basic Medical Degree (MBCHB or equivalent) from medical school acceptable to KMPDC.
• Satisfactory completion of a one-year internship.
• At least 2 years clinical experience post-internship in General Practice.
• Must have a valid KMPDC license to Practice.
As a medical doctor you will be involved with restoring a patient’s optimum health, perform health assessments, prescribe medication, create treatment plans, and provide primary healthcare and wellness advice to patients. Major responsibilities for this role will require you to:
• Work independently in managing a wide scope of primary healthcare cases including acute and chronic diseases, and complex medical problems that can be managed at the primary healthcare level.
• Provide remote treatment when/if primary healthcare condition could be managed in-house while following HealthX policies and procedures.
• Compile patient histories, formulates diagnosis, order appropriate diagnostic tests, and prescribe appropriate treatment.
• Respond to and handle inbound calls from patients directly or calls transferred from care coordinator/nurse/patient advocate.
• Perform periodic outbound calls to ensure that patients receive further care and follow-up, if required, in a timely manner.
• Offer in-home assessment to patients with identified barriers to appropriate healthcare facilities.
• Remotely monitor enrolled patients through telemonitoring software.
• Provide health promotion and preventive services including child health services, ante natal care and primary healthcare screening etc.
• Educate clients, patients, and families on their health and how to maintain and promote it.
• Coordinate patient care with secondary level through appropriate referral to hospitals, including emergency referral, and maintain responsibility for patient’s primary healthcare.
• Maintain high standard of documentation in electronic medical records.
• Keep up to date with evidence based medical knowledge in the field of General Practice and primary healthcare.
Participate in professional development programs and ensure license to practice as a General Practitioner (at minimum) is maintained and up to date.
