CARE is an international NGO with local staff and community partners in 100 countries. We create local solutions to
poverty and inequality and we seek dignity for everyone every day and during times of crisis. These solutions are
anchored on a broad scope of sustainable approaches in the following sectors; humanitarian assistance, food and
nutrition security, health, WASH and finance literacy education. CARE programs also integrate governance, gender
equality and resilience as cross-cutting themes to tackling underlying causes of poverty and injustice. Our impacts
are reflected on women and girls whose results are healthy mothers and children. Women and girls are at the
epicenter of CARE’s work because we do believe that when they have equal access to resources, they lift their
families and communities out of poverty. Our staff live within work areas and therefore understands the local context
and challenges communities face. With experience of over 75 years, since World War II, the mission was the world’s
first CARE Package® of food for the post-war hungry in Europe. Our work today is as important as ever, we believe that
poverty and inequality are historic injustices that we can end within a generation, for good. If you share our core
beliefs: poverty is an injustice; poverty is solvable; and together, we have the power to end it, so join us.
