REPORTING TO: Head of Personal Banking
JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Head of Personal Banking, the role holder will be responsible for implementing the New Business game plan in line with the overall retail banking strategy and providing leadership and direction to the Direct Sales Channel/New Business Team to achieve set revenues and profitability targets.
LOCATION: Kampala
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Effectively build relationships in workplace banking and provide direct support to sales teams in managing these relationships.
- Successfully cross-sell and deep-sell the bank’s services and products to the target market to grow the retail banking portfolios per established targets.
- Develop opportunities to increase commission-based income and create awareness to continuously increase usage of dfcu branches and electronic delivery channels.
- Acquire new business through the DSR channel to grow the balance sheet.
- Train, coach and manage the Direct Sales Representatives to attain the required productivity.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and other relevant bodies to ensure that the company maximizes its sales potential.
- Monitor competitor activity to ensure that the company maintains and develops its competitive position through continuous feedback from the market.
- Give support to the branches in terms of sales and periodic visits.
- Mobilize deposits for Retail Banking through sales activations
- Develop opportunities to increase commission-based income and create awareness to continuously increase usage of our branches and electronic delivery channels.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- A bachelor’s degree with a bias in business related field
- Sales leadership training
- 5 years of professional experience in banking with at least 3 years in a managerial role within retail sales.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to influence solid working relationships with corporate companies.
- Ability to plan and execute sales drives in a competitive environment.
- Exposure to customer service and the ability to handle conflicts and client complaints.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Computer knowledge especially working with spreadsheets, power point and word processors.
- Be a team player with the ability to lead and work under minimum supervision.
- People management skills with the ability to influence others to deliver
- Strong knowledge of Bank products.
- Ability to manage time and pressure effectively to ensure no loss of efficiency
