Job Title: Manager Bancassurance

College, Insurance Regulatory Authority, Uganda Insurers
Association, Auditors
Job Purpose
To drive growth of insurance business as per set targets and in line
with the bank’s strategy while managing risk in line with regulatory
framework, policies and procedures.
Key Result Areas
1. Establish and drive the Bancassurance strategy in line with
overall bank’s objectives while ensuring that the Insurance
Regulatory Authority (IRA) and Bank of Uganda (BOU)
guidelines on Bancassurance are adhered to.
2. Monitor overall performance of the branches as well as that
of specified persons to ensure that the annual targets are
achieved and implement strategies to achieve these targets.
3. Ensure compliance to Bancassurance regulations through
reporting and collections.
4. Liaise with insurance companies to ensure service level
agreements are adhered to with minimal delays in claims
settlement and premium collections.
5. Ensure continuous product reviews, craft and develop new
products as well as enhance existing ones depending on the
market and customer need changes as informed by market
intelligence.
6. Design and implement service experience and carry out
training of specified persons and front office staff to ensure
delivery of exceptional service to customers.
7. Continuously monitor and review process flows and ensure
availability and reliability of the systems for seamless agent
transactions.
8. Ensure renewal of Bancassurance licenses annually as well
as initiate and ensure establishment of a tariff for insurance
products.
9. Creating awareness and improving staff knowledge and
understanding of the market products.
10. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements in line with
the industry regulations.
11. Ensure all disputes from all parties are handled and closed in
time to avoid reputational damage.
Financial Responsibility:
Develop and implement strategic plans to increase bancassurance
sales to meet the set Non funded Income targets
Person Specifications
Education & Training
1. An honors degree in Business Administration, Commerce,
Quantitative Economics and Business Statistics or any other
related field from a recognized University.
2. Diploma in Insurance or Insurance related qualification
Skills & Experience
1. Four (4) years’ experience in insurance in areas of
underwriting, claims, finance or regulation
Business Behaviours
1. Strong networking and interpersonal skills
2. Excellent relationship management skills and business closure
techniques
3. Proven people, leadership, and negotiation skills
4. Strong risk analytical skills.
