- We are seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing faults in light vehicles, ensuring that all work is carried out to a high standard and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and Repair Faults: Diagnose and repair faults in light vehicles, including engine, transmission, braking, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Conduct Routine Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Inspect Vehicles: Inspect vehicles to identify any defects or damage, and provide recommendations for repair or replacement.
- Test and Road Vehicles: Test and road vehicles to ensure that all repairs have been carried out correctly and that the vehicle is safe to drive.
- Maintain Workshop Equipment: Maintain workshop equipment and tools, ensuring that they are in good working order and calibrated correctly.
- Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support to other mechanics and apprentices, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve overall workshop performance.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including health and safety procedures and environmental policies.
Requirements
- Trade Test, Diploma, OND or HND in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering with 2-5 years experience.
- Completion of a formal automotive technician training program can also be considered.
- Relevant certifications, such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification, demonstrate expertise.
- Strong mechanical and technical skills.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy parts.
- Good communication skills to interact with supervisors and unit head.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Salary
- N70,000 – N180,000 / Month.
