
CITAM seeks to recruit a born-again Christian who is experienced and self-motivated to fill the position of a Legal Assistant, whose responsibility will be to provide comprehensive legal support to ensure that CITAM operates in compliance with all applicable laws in all its spheres of influence.
The position reports to the Legal Officer.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Collaborate effectively with the legal officer and internal departments to manage legal matters.
- Drafting, reviewing, and editing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Assist in various litigation-related activities including gathering relevant documents, maintaining organized records, and ensuring timely responses to legal inquiries.
- Provide assistance on project-related legal matters, contributing to the successful execution of company initiatives, while adhering to legal requirements.
- Auditing and identifying any potential risks and exposures and putting together mitigation measures.
- Managing internal compliance audits.
- Ensure the organization’s adherence to legal and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct thorough legal research, analyse findings, and provide well-informed opinions on complex legal issues, contributing to informed decision-making.
- Offer comprehensive legal support as required by the organization, addressing various legal queries and tasks that arise in the course of business operations.
- Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
- Minimum Bachelor of Laws Degree from a reputable and recognized university.
- Minimum 2 years’ continuous experience in a similar position or 2 years in a reputable legal firm.
- Must be admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with good standing.
- Professional Certifications such as Certified Company Secretary, Arbitration, Mediation, among others will be an added advantage.
- Technology savvy.
