Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, IT or any related field from a recognized university.
  • Working at Height certification from KPLC.
  • Class 15-17 certification from KPLC is an added advantage.
  • Certified Optic Technician Certification

Relevant skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in a similar role, including 2 years of driving with a valid license.
  • Proficient in fiber optic splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and using related tools and equipment.
  • Strong work ethic, leadership qualities, good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, with experience in high-count fiber splices and quality management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely, independently, or under supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Willingness for on-call/standby duties and occasional travel
  • Strong customer service orientation.

Requirement

  • Splice fiber optic cables across Vilcom Network’s Ltd ODN; cabinets, enclosure, ODFs and FATs as per the work prints and distribution diagrams provided.
  • Quality preparation, installation and dressing of fiber tubes before splicing.
  • Operate technical equipment, including but not limited to computer, OTDR, power meters, fusion splicing machine, and understand the functions.
  • Should have excellent fiber/ patch codes management skill and be able to lift and manipulate/install enclosures, FATs and another equipment either overhead on poles or wall mounted.
  • Must have the ability to read splice and test results and provide timely reports to the line manager when
  • Must be able to read and interpret existing and new fiber records, on designs, KMZs, or in the field.
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance to resolve assigned faults within the agreed SLA.
  • Daily presentation of Job hazard Analysis and toolbox talk before commencement of any work.
  • Daily record-keeping and reporting on work done.
  • Provide basic education on Vilcom Networks Itd products and services, especially at the last mile connectivity
  • Timely escalation of all customer concerns to NOC
  • Must be willing to work overtime.
  • Managing own workload without being supervised
  • Taking care of all assigned company tools and equipment including company vehicles, splicing machines and OTDRs
  • Must be able to lead a team.
  • Must be able to request material ERP and reconcile the same on a daily basis. Any remaining should be returned back to the system.
  • Do site handovers to Support and Maintenance once rollout is done.
