Job Description

Job Purpose: –

Responsible for supporting the technology infrastructure & operations of d. light Uganda

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist in managing IT Infrastructure: This involves overseeing d. light Uganda’s hardware, software, networks, and systems to ensure they are functioning properly and securely.

Assist in network Administration: Setting up and maintaining the organization’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN), including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

Technical Support: Providing technical assistance and support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring prompt resolution of IT-related problems.

Information Security: Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect the organization’s data, networks, and systems from unauthorized access, cyberattacks, and other security breaches.

Assist in Data Management: Overseeing data backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters.

IT Policies and Procedures: Enforcing IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulations and to promote efficient use of IT resources.

Vendor Management: Evaluating and managing relationships with IT vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

Training and Documentation: Providing training to staff on new technologies or IT procedures, and maintaining documentation for IT systems, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • Minimum of a degree in Information Technology or its equivalent from a reputable university.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a technology environment.
  • Proven track record of hitting and exceeding targets and building partnerships
  • Demonstrate problem solving capability – ability to create win-win situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications
  • Superb interpersonal skills.
  • Strong mindset for continuous improvement and meeting or exceeding expectations and able to demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality.
  • Passion for social enterprise and development of people.
