SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing technical support and assisting staff with troubleshooting hardware and software issues to ensure smooth operation of computer systems.
  • Resolving network issues such as connectivity issues within the Institution’s network, configuring and maintaining network devices (e.g., routers, switches, and access points), to ensure efficient data flow and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Performing preventive maintenance tasks on computers, printers, and other IT equipment to ensure their proper functioning;
  • Installation and updating of software applications.
  • Performing regular backups of critical data and ensuring that data recovery processes are in place in case of a system failure.
  • Maintaining and updating the ISK website and managing the Institution’s social media platforms.
  • Support the implementation of new IT systems or upgrades by helping to research and test new technologies or services.
  • Assisting in developing and maintaining internal software applications by writing, testing, and deploying code to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing basic cybersecurity measures, including ensuring that antivirus software is running, firewalls are configured correctly, and sensitive data is properly protected.
  • Maintaining a log of all IT hardware and software used within the Institution, including licenses and warranties.
  • Performing any other lawful duties as may be assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • A Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields from a recognized Institution;
  • Knowledge of major operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and basic understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, etc.).
  • Familiarity with office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace), software development tools, and general software installation.
  • Knowledge in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, PHP) and database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) is an added advantage.
  • At least one (1) year experience in a similar position.

  • Clear communication, both verbal and written, to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff and users;
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when managing IT systems, documentation, and troubleshooting issues;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, assisting colleagues and contributing to group projects
