Job Summary: To support the installation, deployment and maintenance of servers, desktops, printers, telephony and other hardware across both production and DR environments, and provide timely and efficient user support across networks, desktops and applications.
The IT Infrastructure Support Officer will also support the various processes to Identify, Control and Account for assets throughout their lifecycle, from ‘Receipt’ into the organization to ultimate ‘Disposal’
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake effective capacity management of all server and storage resources.
- Support the installation, deployment, upgrade and troubleshooting servers and storage hardware components that include and related support issues in a timely and efficient manner, striving to meet or exceed the SLAs agreed with business.
- Follow the change management process to implement any major infrastructural changes in the live environment.
- Support the delivery of all assigned business and ICT projects and initiatives.
- Carryout fault diagnosis relating to moderately complex problems, reporting the results of such diagnosis in a clear and concise manner.
- Resolve high level issues through providing mitigating actions and driving the implementation of these actions.
- Support the implementation of Disaster Recovery (DR) and related Business Continuity Management activities.
- Review and support all flagged security breaches and vulnerabilities and ensure that all servers and storage devices are protected with up-to-date antivirus definitions and other security controls.
- Produce robust documentation and presentation materials for stakeholder consumption operating at varying levels.
- Document all IT assets in line with BRAC’s standards and track assets register that matches the physical assets in the business.
- Support the preventive maintenance of all servers and storage devices ensuring servicing is done per schedule and SLA.
- Timely and efficient response to infrastructure related issues logged onto the ICT helpdesk.
- Carryout any other duty as assigned by the IT Infrastructure Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science and any related ICT field.
- Certifications like ITIL V3 Foundation, CCNA, A+ an added advantage.
- Project management qualification and experience will be also an added advantage.
- At least three years ‘experience in implementing server builds and storage management in a sizeable organization that provides a functional and serviceable platform for the business across multiple hardware and software platforms.
- Good knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating systems.
- Strong competencies in managing virtual machines and environment.
- Understand principles of managing service levels, system availability, performance metrics and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and security measures.
- Knowledge network fundamentals, configuration, troubleshooting and security practices.
- Knowledge of negotiating and managing third party service providers/vendor SLAs.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure library (ITL 4) processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of IT Asset Management.
- Familiarity with Banking/ICT industry standards and regulations.
- High degree of problems-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a multidimensional/multicultural setting.
- Decisive with strength of character.
- Ability to remain calm in the face of major pressure/incident.
- Team player that exhibits critical thinking and confidence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High degree of problem solving and analytical skills
