IT and Media Communications Intern

The African Pharmaceutical Network (APN) is a Pan -African network that brings together pharmaceutical industry professionals, stakeholders and organizations working in the African Pharmaceutical Sector for knowledge sharing, policy shaping and innovation nurturing partnerships towards a robust pharmaceutical sector anchored on; reliable access to safe, efficacious and affordable quality medicines and pharmaceuticals services for the African people.
Objective of the IT & Media Communication Intern:
The objective of the role of an IT and Media intern is to support in the execution of IT and Media related tasks and responsibilities geared towards the realization of the objectives and goals of the organization.

Educational Background: 
Must poses a Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development, Digital Media or a related field with at least 1 year of work experience.
Technical Skills: 
  1. Website Development and Management: The applicant must have knowledge of website development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress or Drupal. He/she must poses basic understanding of website optimization (SEO) and user experience (UX) design.
  2. Learning Platform Development: The applicant must be familiar with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or e-learning platforms (e.g. Moodle, Canvas). He or she must have an understanding of platform development and maintenance for secure, robust online learning environments.
  3. Social Media Management: Have experience with social media platforms (Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Instagram). He or she must have the ability to develop content strategies, create digital assets (Posters, infographics), and understand social media trends.
  4. Digital Media & Content Creation: Must poses video recording and editing skills using tools like; Adobe premiere, Final Cut Pro, or other video editing software.
  5. Graphic Design Skills: Be able to skillfully work with software applications such (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop) for digital media content.
Technical Support: 
  1. Basic troubleshooting skills for IT issues and knowledge of setting up customized domain-linked emails.
  2. Have an understanding of data analytics tools such Google Analytics to monitor website and social media performance.
Soft Skills: 
  1. Collaboration: Ability to work closely with teams, including the APN Steering team, and across various functions such as marketing and education.
  2. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with internal teams and external partners.
  3. Problem -Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to website management, learning platforms and other digital tools.
  4. Creativity: Ability to envision and create engaging, interactive and user-friendly digital platforms.
Additional Skills: 
  1. Time management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities across across different projects (website, social media, learning platforms etc.)
  2. Adaptability: Willingness to adapt and learn new tools, platforms and evolving needs of the organization.
  3. Attention to detail: A focus on accuracy and precision in developing, managing and maintaining digital platforms and content.
