Position Summary:
We seek a dynamic and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to support the investment and
financing efforts on our infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in
identifying and analyzing viable investment opportunities, engaging stakeholders within the
private sector, and fostering strategic partnerships to drive the project’s success. A strong social
network and excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Investment Analysis and Strategy:
- Conduct detailed financial modeling, investment appraisals, and feasibility studies for
LAPSSET-related projects.
- Evaluate investment proposals and provide recommendations to ensure alignment with
project goals and risk profiles.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and economic indicators to identify
investment opportunities.
2. Private Sector Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with private sector players, including investors, industry leaders, and financiers.
- Facilitate discussions with potential partners to explore joint ventures, public-private
partnerships (PPPs), and financing options.
- Develop presentations and proposals tailored to private sector stakeholders, demonstrating the value and ROI of LAPSSET initiatives.
3. Networking and Advocacy:
- Leverage an extensive professional and social network to connect with key
decision-makers and influencers.
- Represent the LAPSSET project at industry forums, networking events, and conferences
to promote investment opportunities.
- Advocate for the project’s objectives by effectively communicating its potential
socioeconomic impact.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive investment reports and dashboards to support informed
decision-making.
- Track project performance metrics and financial outcomes against established
benchmarks.
- Provide insights on regulatory and policy environments that may impact private sector investments.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
(Master’s preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in investment analysis, financial planning, Investment
marketing, or a similar role, preferably in general investments, infrastructure projects or
large-scale development projects.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in investment management tools and software.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships across diverse
sectors.
- Strong understanding of PPP frameworks and infrastructure financing mechanisms.
- Marketing Articulation and presentation skills
Other Requirements:
- A well-established professional network within the private sector.
- Experience working in or with the East African market is a significant advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Number and quality of investment proposals analyzed and presented.
- Successful engagement and partnership agreements with private sector entities.
- Growth of the project’s network and visibility in the private sector.
- Timely delivery of high-quality reports and analysis to support project goals.
Location: Based in Nairobi, Kenya, with potential travel to project areas
