INSTRUMENTATION ARTISAN

The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for maintenance, installation and repairing of all instrumentation equipment, electronic and electro- pneumatic instruments at instrumentation, commercial weighing scale to required standards and accuracy. Ensuring good and safe maintenance practices at all the time at instrumentation.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance of electronics field and control instruments.
  • Conducts routine maintenance of field and control panel instruments instrumentation.
  • Carries out planned maintenance on electronic, pneumatic equipment’s and Variable speed drives.
  • To perform the Troubleshooting of the SCADA or DCS control system.
  • To perform the Maintenance and Monitoring of the Variable speed drive system.
  • Ensures that instruments are in good working condition.
  • Communicate on the functioning of instruments.
  • Communicate to the status of spares and requirement.
  • Overhauls and calibrates electronic control instruments.
  • Overhauls and calibrates Analytical electronic control instrument at instrumentation.
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Responsible for fault-finding and problem solving of engineering/ operational problems in the plant area by ensuring that the appropriate corrective action regarding any deviation from standards is taken.
  • Identifies the major engineering losses in plant area and investigates using problem solving methodologies. (5 Why, Stage 1 etc.)
  • Review emergency works orders and initiate investigations and corrective action
  • Capability to develop and lead cross functional teams to deliver Business needs Key roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure reporting, investigation, documentation and action of incidents as per the relevant acts and procedures.
  • Promote safety awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with special work permit requirements by fellow employees and contractors. Maintain 5 S and housekeeping standards.

Personal Profile

  • Bachelor Degree, FTC or Diploma or National Trade Test Grade 1 of electronics or electrical Engineering from a recognized institution or equivalent.
  • 3+ years post experience in a heavy industry environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance of control system in manufacturing industry, PLC, VFD and SCADA System.
  • Ability to work on Industrial Server clusters Environment and Perform an Industrial Network Troubleshooting is an Added Advantage.
  • Experience on Topserver, Flow and Grafana software’s Is an Added
  • Sound knowledge of VPO and workplace change principles would be an added benefit.
