Job Title: Information Technology Team Leader

Watoto Church Ministries is a Church committed to celebrating Christ and caring for the community. The Church in pursuing its vision has experienced exponential growth in the past 40 years and currently comprises 17 Celebration Centers (Church campuses), 3 Children’s villages, 2 Baby Homes, an FM radio station, Schools and some farms. All these entities draw from the same centralized services and Information Technology is one of those centralized services.
We seek to recruit an Information Technology Team Leader to provide strategic, technical and administrative leadership to the Information and communications technology (ICT) function, for all Watoto Church Ministries entities to ensure that all ICT system, infrastructure, and resources are optimally used for the benefit of the Group in pursuit of the Ministry objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to).
1. Information and Communications Technology Systems Planning and Development.
- Take lead on the ICT needs assessment, strategy formulation and administer risk mitigation strategies for the Ministry.
- Take lead on the Information and communications technology strategy development process
- Regularly review the Information and communications technology policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure that they are in line with international standards and ministry needs.
- Oversee the administration and maintenance of the infrastructure.
- Develop and implement the Annual operational plans and budgets for the Information and communications technology systems.

2. Manage Information and Communications Technology Infrastructure and Systems.
• Maintain and develop a modern, cost effective, stable and secure infrastructure.
- Ensure that the software and hardware functionality is effective, efficient, and secure.
- Ensure that the integrity of the technical infrastructure and systems architecture is always maintained.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the current architecture against possible alternatives.
- Maintain and regularly review the adequacy of the backup and recovery strategies and systems.
- Ensure that adequate and up-to-date security measures are established and maintained to safeguard ICT infrastructure and systems.
- Establish Standard operating processes and provide ICT support to users to optimally apply ICT
- resources to Ministry objectives within an effective risk management framework.
3. Contract and Vendor Relationship management.
- Manage the relationships with ICT service providers and periodically evaluate their performance to ensure that high levels of service are received and maintained.
- Champion identification of new ICT solutions in an expanding outsourcing environment.
• Participate in the procurement evaluations, negotiations, and management of various ICT service level agreements within pre-agreed limits.
4. Human Resource Management and Development.
- Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, orientation and performance appraisal of team members.
- Ensure that team members have clearly defined job descriptions, performance action plans and objectives.
- Instigate initiatives that aim to deliver high performance and compliance the policies and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that team members undergo relevant training and development.
- Prepare and implement an annual leave schedule for the department.
5. Preparation of Reports.
- Analyse and prepare data driven reports for strategic decision making.
- Formulate periodic and ad hoc reports in line with the organization’s reporting guidelines to Management and Deacons Information and communications technology Committee.
- Organize periodic Deacons Information and communications technology Committee meetings.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience.
- The applicant for the role should hold at least a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in information and communications technology, Computer Science or Electrical engineering.
- Industry Certification from either CISCO, Microsoft or Oracle is required.
- A relevant master’s degree is an added advantage.
A minimum of five (5) years’ working experience in system administration, infrastructure and technical implementation with at least two (2) years at managerial level. - Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial planning and management reporting.
