
About CCAK
Clean Cooking Association of Kenya (CCAK) is a membership association with members from both the private and public sector, representing the interests of its members and stakeholders engaged in providing clean and efficient cooking solutions in Kenya. CCAK is missioned as the sector champion influencing a suitable market environment and capacity development of its members and other stakeholders, enabling them to cause universal adoption of clean and efficient cooking solutions in Kenya. The Association has strengthened sector collaboration and coordination, improved policies, regulations and standards, and improved awareness.
CCAK has also strived to build solidarity amongst relevant stakeholders and created effective partnerships to ensure that the use of clean cookstoves and fuels is the norm in the Kenyan households and institutions. CCAK coordinates the cooking sector through its key pillar engagement with the private sector, government, partners and donors namely:
- Policy, Advocacy and Representation
- Research, Innovation and Knowledge Management
- Standards and Technical Support
- Market Strengthening
- Institutional Strengthening and Organizational Development.
CCAK is strategically placed to coordinate the sector in order to improve the enabling environment for business development of clean cooking technologies and fuels for improved adoption within households and institutions in Kenya. CCAK seeks to recruit short-term services (6 months part time) of an IT individual consultant. The consultant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of an organization’s information technology (IT) infrastructure and systems providing technical insights to improve the effectiveness of project deliverables.
Roles and Responsibilities
Specifically, the consultant will:
- Install, configure, monitor system performance, and maintain hardware and software components of the ICT infrastructure, including the CCAK Website, servers, networks, and peripherals.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect ICT systems and data from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
- Provide technical support to staff, monitor and enforce compliance with ICT policies and standards, and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations for infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and migrations.
- Design information systems and structures to ensure efficient knowledge access and retrieval.
- Create and manage digital content used for training, knowledge sharing, or communication purposes.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT), Information Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Data science, CompTIA, Cisco, SAS Certified) are preferred.
- 3-4 years proven experience in ICT support, website development and administration.
- Experience and proficiency in coding/computer programming.
- Experience in creating and implementing knowledge management systems to facilitate information sharing and collaboration.
- Ability to create clear, informative dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Proven experience in programming languages, e.g. python, C++, R, SQL, JavaScript, Julia.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
