Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Head Chef (Contract Position) to lead our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for menu development, kitchen management, cost control, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests while maintaining compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service across all dining outlets.
- Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high culinary standards.
- Develop and implement creative, seasonal menus while optimizing food costs.
- Ensure consistency in food preparation, presentation, and portion control.
- Monitor inventory, procurement, and cost control to optimize kitchen expenses.
- Enforce strict food safety, health, and hygiene regulations to maintain industry standards.
- Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Oversee waste management and sustainability practices in the kitchen.
Requirements
- At least five (5) years of experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a hotel.
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple kitchen tasks efficiently.
- Expertise in menu planning, kitchen operations, and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
