Job title: Mixer Operator

Work Location: Hariss International Limited – Kampala, Uganda

Division / Department: Process Rooms

Reports to: Shift – in charge

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production startup and shut down at pasteurizers, mixers and ozoner machines.
  • Actively monitor mixer, filler and pasteurizer c.i.ps and maintain proper documentation.
  • In liaison with the Water Treatment Supervisor / QC, confirm end of CIP process by testing to ensure no trace of chemical is present in the rinse water.
  • Participate in syrup room operations during batch release and finished syrup sending strainers inspection after ending production.
  • Ensure proper production startup with right RTD parameters of Brix, carbon dioxide and temperatures in compliance with internal quality standards.
  • Coordinate with production and quality personnel to ensure smooth and timely production startups and shutdown.
  • Report out-of-tolerance product parameters to Shift In-charge and QC/A supervisor for corrective action.
  • Should be able to end production, ensure that the tanks have been drained automatically so that CIPs can begin.
  • Prepare and maintain documents to conform to suitable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
  • Troubleshoot online process activities to maintain quality in liaison with process owners.
  • Take part in initiating and implementing corrective action plans in case of a deviation.
  • Ensure implementation of preventive action plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, industrial chemistry, food science and technology, Science technology Chemistry/Biology.
  • Minimum 1year Experience in food/Beverages/Dairy industry.
  • Pasteurization & Mixers operational Experience will give More preference.

Job title:   Water Treatment Plant Team Leader

Work Location: Hariss International Limited – Kampala, Uganda

Division / Department: Process Rooms-Beverage

Reports to: Shift Incharge

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure there is right concentration of treatment chemicals added in water
  • Carry out weekly sanitation of   water treatment tanks, polishers, filters and the all water treatment area.
  • Monitor the cartridge and carbon filters to ensure they are work properly.
  • Conducting water analysis tests such as hardness, alkalinity, PH, turbidity, chlorine   residual, etc., for treatment process control
  • Carry out daily backwash of carbon filters.
  • Ensure adequate supply of treated water to Production lines.
  • Maintain the dosing pre-treatment chlorination facility including routine maintenance, & equipment and adjusting chemical feed rates.
  • Maintain water treatment records in accordance with UNBS and ISO standards.
  • Ensures that plant operations are following SOPs/ guidelines.
  • Create an effective and efficient testing protocol to be used in the water treatment section
  • Discuss inspection results with quality assurance and recommend necessary corrective actions.
  • Documents the results of the different tests undertaken

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years hands-on in the Food Industry. Beverage manufacturing plant is a distinct advantage.

Job title:     Technical Operator ( Blow Molder)

Reports to:         Production Team Leader-Beverage

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for starting up and stopping equipment.
  • Assists with the production line in factories.
  • Responsible for keeping the machine clean.
  • Performs weekly care of machines with the maintenance team.
  • Loads and unload boxes and shrink film glue in machines.
  • Responsible for lubricating the machine and keeping record of it.
  • Responsible for scraping waste material (glue, oil, film) from machines.
  • Ensures conformance to specifications.
  • Responsible for marking parts of identification.
  • Responsible for reading and interpreting gauges.
  • Responsible for recording data of machine-like film weight, glue consumption, machine counter etc.
  • Performing changeover of machine if required.
  • Responsible for running a twin pack machine.

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  • A minimum of a diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or any relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role in a busy environment.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Familiar with Carbonated Soft Drinks and/or water treatment plant.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
