POSITION: HEAD, CREDIT ADMINISTRATION

REPORTING TO: MANAGING DIRECTOR

Purpose of position:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the job holder is directly responsible for policies, processes & the quality of the bank credit portfolio & compliance thereof with internal & regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage & supervise Credit Administration, Security and Documentation divisions under the Credit risk function.
  • Supervise the CRB and Monitoring division under the monitoring function.
  • Review credit facility applications for new facilities, renewals, excess requests, early draw-downs, risk grading and pricing matrix for approval at the relevant approval committees of the Bank.
  • Attend Management and Board Credit Committee meetings for making decisions on the bank’s portfolio’s annual reviews, new facilities as well as reviewing the quality of the bank’s Credit Portfolio and recommend/implement relevant strategic changes as agreed through Credit Policy Directives.
  • Co-ordinate with external lawyers and Bailiffs to ensure loan recoveries.
  • Directly responsible for co-ordination and the completion of periodic Credit risk MIS reports to Group and Bank of Uganda
  • Review annually, the bank’s Credit Risk Management policies, procedures, Standard Security documents and recommend/ implement changes where appropriate, after agreements with the Head of Risk, Legal and the Management Credit Committee
  • Supporting all credit back office and administrative functions of the Credit Administration Unit.
  • Critical risk monitoring for compliance with all statutory requirements and monitor the entire business portfolio.

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities set:

  • A minimum of a Business related Bachelor’s degree. An additional professional and or academic qualification in Banking, Accounting or Finance will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in credit management with at least 5 years in middle management.
  • Team player inter-personal and customer service skills
  • Excellent leadership and administrative skills
  • Ability to work under pressure


POSITION: HEAD TECHNOLOGY GROUP

REPORTING TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Purpose of position:

The job holder will be responsible for Planning and leading the implementation of IT solutions and systems in compliance with GTBank’s Policies, Procedures and best practices while ensuring Compliance to Regulatory requirements and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all teams of Technology Group and the staff of the department, planning and organizing their activities, setting targets, monitoring performance and giving support, instruction and advice;
  • Design and implement strategic information technology plans and budgets for cost-effective procurement, utilization and maintenance of computer software and hardware;
  • Formulate, manage and monitor IT Disaster Recovery and Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Management of Vendors; Negotiate service level agreements and monitor the performance of vendors and suppliers to ensure the service level agreements are met,
  • Monitor leases and contracts and ensure compliance with terms and proper licensing for all hardware and software components is done.
  • Ensure Compliance to Internal Controls, Policies and procedures; regulatory requirements and industries’ best practices.
  • Planning the future objectives of the department and ensuring these are in accordance with the corporate objectives of the Bank;
  • Prepare and maintain the risk assessment matrix associated with technologies implemented at Bank;
  • Oversee the areas of information security, business continuity planning, audit, insurance and compliance;
  • Implement and enforce effective internal IT controls;
  • Using IT governance best practices, manage configuration & release;
  • Manage IT procurements in collaboration with Bank procurement department and in accordance with Bank procurement rules and regulations;
  • Perform any other duties as may be directed by the Executive Director.

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities set:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Software Engineering or any other related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Information Technology with at least 5 years in middle management.
  • CCNA, MCSE, MCSA and CLA are added advantages
  • Thorough knowledge of database management systems technologies especially Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
  • Thorough knowledge of and experience in writing scripts using Transact-SQL
  • Knowledge of and experience in software development methodologies and languages especially .NET or JAVA
  • Experience in managing multiple RDBMS on large systems
  • Strong project management, problem solving, reporting and analytical skills
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Good communication, interpersonal, Analytical and Leadership skills
  • Strategic and Project Planning skills

POSITION: BRANCH HEAD OF OPERATIONS

REPORTING TO: GROUP HEAD OF OPERATIONS


Purpose of position:

Reporting to the Group Head of Operations, responsible for overall management, supervision and control of operational activities within the branch, ensuring that customer expectations are fulfilled without any exposure to the bank. Continuously monitor performance standards, ensure seamless Operations and Customer Service including review of processes, controls and policies to optimise efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the implementation of bank Service strategy at branch level.
  • Coordinate the activities of the front and back office to ensure effective service to both internal & external clients.
  • Manage risks and internal controls affecting the branch and ensure that the necessary steps are taken to measure, monitor and control these risks.
  • Manage customer service levels in the branch and ensure they are up to bank standards
  • Maximize bank fees and deposits in line with bank strategy
  • Undertake branch staff development and management
  • Oversee branch administrative activities
  • Implement Audit recommendation.

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities set:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce or any other related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking operations – 2 of which should be in a supervisory position
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, attention to detail, decision-making, and team working skills.

 

POSITION: TEAM LEADER AGENT BANKING

REPORTING TO: MANAGING DIRECTOR

Purpose of position:

Responsible for driving E-Business products sales, usage and profitability while ensuring compliance with the regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement strategies to drive the Bank’s digital Banking budget.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of a robust on-boarding and scale up process for GTBank’s Digital Products (Agent Banking, Mobile Banking, etc.) in compliance with set out regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor and take action to improve Digital financial services banking operational efficiency and effectiveness, and support functions to resolve issues, reviewing procedures, and automating processes to improve efficiency.
  • Build capacity, manage and coach team members.
  • Prepare and submit management and regulatory reports on all aspects of Digital Financial Supervision and support.
  • Ensure all electronic banking products, channels and solutions deployed are profitable.

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities set:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce or any other related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Digital Banking.
  • Good communication, marketing and negotiation skills
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, attention to detail, decision-making, and team leading skills.
