Background:
Amref Health Africa was founded in 1957 and has since grown to become the largest African-
based international health development organisation; currently implementing more than 180
programs, reaching more than 40 million people across 35 African countries; and a staff
complement of over 2,000. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, Amref Health Africa has offices
in ten countries in Africa – Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Guinea (Conakry), Kenya, Malawi, Senegal,
South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. An additional eleven advocacy and fundraising
offices are located in Europe and North America.

Graphic Designer Intern to join our HR Shared Services Department and contribute to our
mission of creating engaging and visually appealing content and enhancing communication to
our staff.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
§ Collaborate with the HR team to design and produce high-quality visual content for internal communications, including newsletters, emails, presentations, posters, and social media.
§ Assist in creating visually appealing training materials, employee handbooks, and other HR-related documents

§ Support the design and layout of promotional materials for HR initiatives, events, and
programs.
§ Develop and maintain a consistent visual style and branding across all HR
communications.
§ Create engaging graphics and visuals for employee recognition and engagement
programs.
§ Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to enhance HR
communications and initiatives.
§ Ensure all designs are aligned with the company’s branding guidelines and reflect the
desired tone and message.
Requirements:
§ A degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
§ Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
§ Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
§ Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
§ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
§ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
§ A portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including digital and print materials.
§ Basic knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects) is a plus.
