Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant with a keen eye for accuracy to support our accounting team with tasks related to payment processing, cash receipts, accounts payable, and general administrative duties.
This position reports to the finance manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Assist in the implementation of internal controls within financial and administrative circles of the company
- Generate reports that are comprehensive and accurate by every month
- Preparing tax returns and other statutory returns and ensuring timely payments-WHT/WHT-VAT
- Interacts with auditors and participates in year-end audit by providing documents and materials as required
- To manage accounts payable (bill payments, petty cash etc.) and receivable through cash / cheque / voucher in a timely manner.
- Advise the Finance Manager on matters such as effective use of resources
- Maintain Organized filling system
- Perform day-to-day cash management and initiate payments
- Ensure special tasks are executed on time, including; payments
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or ACCA certification is required.
- At least 3-5 years of proven experience in accounting, preferably in the financial services or product financing sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and statutory compliance in Kenya.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
