Fundraising Manager

The successful candidate will collaborate with the hospital leadership, and Foundation Board to identify funding needs to inform, develop, and execute an effective fundraising strategy, processes, and action plans, to achieve defined goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Effectively manage and implement the fundraising strategy and be responsible for achieving the fundraising targets of the Foundation.
  2. Develop and execute annual fundraising budgets.
  3. Manage existing grant/funder relationships including meeting with funders when appropriate, and coordinate grant/impact/financial reporting in line with donor requirements.
  4. Create and manage a pipeline of funding opportunities and research new funding opportunities.
  5. Manage the development of a major donor portfolio, ensuring successful engagement of high-level individual & corporate donors.
  6. Develop new programming ideas, initiatives aligned to the fundraising strategy and translate them into successful fundraising.
  7. Write and submit funding/grant proposals to potential donors.
  8. Create and implement a corporate partnership/fundraising program – seek out and develop new corporate support, respond to proposals of new partnerships, maintain/optimize existing corporate partnerships, and build long term relationships with key partners.
  9. Oversee the development and execution of volunteer-led community and event fundraising. Manage, guide, develop, supervise fundraising staff and progressively/sustainably grow the fundraising function of the foundation.
  10. Oversee, implement, and coordinate all fund development and fundraising activities, including but not limited to local and international fundraising, grant making, corporate and individual donations, fundraising events, and volunteer – led fundraising initiatives.
  11. Facilitate relationship(s) between the Foundation and critical fundraising stakeholders, including but not limited to donors, partner organizations, philanthropy associations/networks.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in any recognized field.
  2. Formal training in fundraising, Knowledge of finance and of the health field, key trends and evolving opportunities will be added advantage.
  3. 8 years’ experience in grant writing and presentation, particularly in developing comprehensive and innovative fundraising strategies – both local and international.
  4. Ability to network, cultivate, sustain partnerships and engage with diverse stakeholders. With high level integrity, humility, honesty, transparency and accountability.
  5. Proven leadership, planning, coordination, organizing, collaborative and with excellent people skills.
