Stromme Foundation is a rights-based development NGO that workstowards a vision of a world free from poverty.Our most important interventions in the fight against poverty are education, economic inclusion / job creation and a strong civil society.This gives hundreds of thousands of people the opportunity to climb out of poverty, every year. We are a decentralised organisation. With offices in West Africa, East Africa and Asia consisting only of local employees, we work through local partners in11 countries.We implementour programmesthrough local partner organisations. Our Organisational Headquarters is in Kristiansand, Norway, and has a coordinating, capacity building and fundraising role. Around 35 staff work in Kristiansand, and a total of 150 staff work for Stromme Foundation worldwide. Work tasks
• Review and quality assure budgets, interim reports and yearly reports from partners • Work closely with programme advisors and conduct comparison with financial and narrative reports • Assist and give guidance and advice in the financial running of the projects. • Regularly carry out financial checks and/or spot check in projects. • Carry out reviews/assessments of partners • Follow-up of Management letters and financial reviews/partner assessments • Attend and contribute to trainings/workshops. • Participate in travel activities and visits to partners • Conduct anti-corruption trainings and develop financial competence among partner staff. • Contribute to capacity strengthening of our local partners in the entire region. • Perform additional related duties as assigned by Strømme or the back-donors.
Qualifications
• Bachelors in accounting or similar with a CPA (U) certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of experience from similar position • Able and willing to travel in eastern Africa. • Fluent English, knowledge of Kiswahili an advantage

This role will be providing support to the Forum for Women and Development (FOKUS) which is a knowledge and resource centre on international gender issues. It is an umbrella organisation for 43 organisations in Norway. The overall objective is to promote womens human rights and gender equality globally. This necessitates strengthening womens access to rights, resources and power, which FOKUS seeks to achieve through advocacy and international development cooperation.
