Currently the Group is seeking additional talent to serve in the role of Finance Reporting Manager.
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for collaborating with the assigned business units to drive financial results through performance reviews, budgeting, planning, and monitoring, while supporting revenue growth and cost optimization. Acting as the key interface between Finance and business teams, they will provide insights and challenge segment heads, sector heads, and product owners to ensure alignment with EBKL’s strategic plan, while maintaining a deep understanding of the bank’s products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare periodic financial reports in accordance with IFRS, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare daily performance reports and insights into material movement in key parameters.
- Monitor compliance with local regulatory limits and draw finance management attention for action to avoid breaches.
- Conduct impact assessment of new Standards and regulatory requirements on financial reporting.
- Liaise with the external auditor, internal auditors and market regulators in matters pertaining to audit, reporting and bank supervision.
- Perform detailed analytics and reviews of the performance to bring out key insights to the drivers of financial performance and variance analysis.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with set requirements.
- Ensure that the integrity of the financial data remains within the highest standards, by ensuring that adequate financial and process controls are in place.
- Conduct effective trend analysis at granular level.
Qualifications
Academic, Professional Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree majoring in accounting or its equivalent.
- Relevant Professional Qualifications e.g., CPA (K) or ACCA.
- MBA (added advantage)
- Experience in data analysis
- At least 6 years’ experience in Auditing, Banking or Finance
Key Technical & Leadership Competencies
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Advanced Excel & Data Analytics: Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and financial modeling, to analyze large datasets and produce insightful financial reports.
- Knowledge of IFRS & Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other relevant financial regulations to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
- Financial Software Proficiency: Experience with financial management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to manage financial data, automate reporting, and streamline financial processes.
- Variance Analysis & Financial Forecasting: Ability to conduct variance analysis and provide detailed insights into financial performance, trends, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- In-depth knowledge of Central Bank of Kenya regulations.
- Proficiency in excel and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
