Job Title: Finance Officer

Job Description
- We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our Finance Team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in strengthening internal financial controls, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, and supporting overall financial integrity within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate internal financial controls to ensure alignment with company policies and standards.
- Conduct periodic audits to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
- Implement risk management measures to detect and prevent financial fraud or mismanagement.
- Collaborate with the Finance and Admin Manager to address audit findings and develop corrective actions.
- Support the Finance Team in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure full compliance with internal procedures and regulatory frameworks.
- Oversee compliance with tax obligations, including prompt remittance of VAT and other statutory deductions.
- Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Review and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Perform any other finance-related tasks assigned by the Finance and Administrative Manager.
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must demonstrate the following:
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
- Proven experience in internal auditing, financial compliance, or general accounting functions.
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory obligations (e.g., FIRS, VAT, PAYE, Pension, etc.).
Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated integrity and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic and sometimes remote or non-traditional setting.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
