Finance Manager

Job Summary

The overall purpose of this job is to provide leadership and direction of the finance department. Provide Technical, strategic leadership and guidance to the business and manage all financial aspects of the company operations and the flow of financial information to management, the Board and external stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for the management of all relevant areas of Finance to ensure adherence to the overall business objectives.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the company budget to ensure prudent allocation and efficient utilization of resources company wide.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate, timely and effective financial reporting system to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit timely management financial reports to senior management and the Board and provided such explanations and insights to allow them make informed decisions.
  • Drive the implementation of finance improvement initiatives as well as lead the move to best practice to enhance process efficiency and quality of outputs.
  • Maintain an effective and sound Cost Accounting System under the Company’s MIS.
  • Periodically review all costs and pricing updates in the accounting system, ensure prices of all products/ services are updated in accordance with Company policies & procedures.
  • Lead, motivate, train, coach the finance team to deliver on the overall strategy

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
  • Master’s in Business Administration required.
  • Accounting professional certification such as (ACCA, CPA) is a must
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with 3 years in a managerial position in a busy and reputable entity.
  • Extensive experience in costing, budgeting and planning, ability to define the departmental and organisational plans.
  • Experience of a manufacturing set up is an added advantage.
