Introduction;
UWS is seeking a result oriented, self-driven individual with high integrity to fill the position of Finance Manager. The suitable candidate shall be employed on permanent and pensionable terms of service within Nairobi.
Main responsibilities of the Jobs.
i. Financial Planning and Analysis
Budgeting: Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring it aligns with the SACCO’s strategic goals.
Forecasting: Analyze financial trends to provide forecasts and identify potential risks.
ii. Financial Reporting
Monthly Reports: Prepare and present monthly financial statements and reports to the board and stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure financial reports comply with regulatory standards and guidelines.
iii. Cash Flow Management
Monitoring Cash Flow: Manage daily cash flow to ensure the SACCO has sufficient funds for operations and member services.
Liquidity Management: Develop strategies to maintain liquidity while maximizing investment returns.
iv. Loan Management
Portfolio Analysis: Monitor the loan portfolio to assess performance, identify delinquencies, and manage risk.
v. Policy Development: Develop and enforce lending policies to minimize risk and ensure responsible lending practices.
vi. Investment Oversight
Investment Strategy: Formulate and implement investment strategies that align with the SACCO’s objectives.
Performance Monitoring: Regularly review investment performance and make recommendations for adjustments.
vii. Member Services
Financial Advisory: Provide financial advice and support to members, helping them understand products and services.
Member Relations: Foster positive relationships with members, addressing their financial needs and concerns.
viii. Team Leadership
Staff Management: Supervise finance department staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to promote financial literacy and effective resource utilization.
ix. Risk Management
Risk Assessment: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Internal Controls: Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard the SACCO’s assets.
x. Strategic Planning
Long-term Strategy: Participate in the development of long-term financial strategies that support the SACCO’s mission and vision.
xi. Performance Metrics: Set and track performance metrics to measure financial success and operational efficiency.
xii. Any other lawful duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Required Qualifications and working experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
- Masters’ degree is an added advantage
- A professional accounting qualification CPAK finalist or ACCA
- At least 5 years’ experience in a related field
- Sound knowledge of Deposit -Taking Saccos and the regulator’s (SASRA) guidelines governing DT saccos.
