Finance Intern

About TICAH

TICAH is a feminist cultural organization that promotes holistic health and community action. We define holistic health as a state of well-being in a physical and non-physical sense. It involves identifying and acting on the root causes of systemic discrimination and deprivation of fundamental freedoms that prevent society, especially the marginalized, from attaining holistic health. Indigenous knowledge of medicine has provided communities with healthy choices for many generations. The knowledge and practice of traditional medicine are one way culture contributes to people’s healthcare. It provides communities with the knowledge of how to diagnose their illnesses and the medicine to use for treatment. TICAH advocates for an enabling environment for traditional medicine to thrive and co-creates spaces with communities and other stakeholders to share, transmit, and practice their indigenous knowledge of medicine.

With a team of 32, TICAH’s work has impacted over 120,000 people by increasing knowledge, agency, and access to health services and fundamental rights. TICAH also coordinates a regional network (MAMA Network) of 35+ grassroots organizations across 23 African countries working to promote SRH rights.
