seeking competent and qualified staff to fill the following position:
FINANCE ASSISTANT
JOB PURPOSE
To support the Head of Finance and strategy in financial reconciliation to ensure financial
effectiveness of the bank operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Verification of goods received.
· Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
• Reconciliations of allocated ledger accounts and follow up for closure of the issues
therein.
· Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Management of Finance related records – filing and custody.
• Filing of statutory returns (Customer/suppliers)
• Staff operational claims processing – Imprest
· Managing accounts payable using core banking system
· Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors
· Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental
procedures.
· Processing due invoices for payments
· Verification of vendor documents: purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other
charges on documents.
· Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account
maintenance, recording entries and reconciling Payable Ledgers
· Maintain vendor statements and daily financial transactions.
· To perform any other duty as assigned in line with the organization goals and objective
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Education -University degree in Accounting, Commerce, Economics or Business
Management/Administration or related business degree
• Certified Chartered Accountant/ Certified Public Accountant.
• CPA Intermediate Level or CPA Section IV qualification
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting firm/financial
institution
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel spreadsheet
• Adherence to high ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills.
• High integrity.
