We are looking for two dedicated and experienced Field Agriculture Experts to join our team in Nakuru and Nyandarua counties. As a key member of our field operations team, you will play a crucial role in supporting local potato farmers, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and driving positive change in the community.
Responsibilities
- Farmer Support & Training: Provide on-the-ground technical support and training to farmers on crop management, pest control, soil health, irrigation, and sustainable farming practices.
- Field Monitoring & Data Collection: Regularly visit farms to monitor crop progress, assess field conditions, and collect relevant data to improve farming practices and productivity.
- Technical Guidance: Offer tailored recommendations to farmers on best practices for improving yields, increasing soil fertility, and adopting new agricultural technologies.
- Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with local farming communities and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and resources.
- Reporting & Analysis: Document and report on field activities, provide insights, and suggest improvements to senior management.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience in field-based agricultural support, crop management, or agricultural extension services.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of local agricultural practices, crop varieties, pest management, soil health, and modern farming techniques.
