EVENTS MANAGER

The Kenya Health Informatics Association (KeHIA) is a professional society legally registered
by the Government of Kenya to promote the development and practice of biomedical and health
informatics in Kenya. More broadly, KeHIA’s primary goal is to professionalize the practice of
health informatics in Kenya with a core aim to support continuous improvement of access to, and
affordability of quality of healthcare services delivered to Kenyans.
KeHIA comprises professionals drawn from the fields of medicine, information technology,
computer science, public health, bioethics & law among others. Majority of its members are
drawn from within Kenya with a growing number joining from outside Kenya.
KeHIA is well placed to strengthen the health partnerships required to promote optimal
utilization of Information, Communication (ICT), and Technology in the public and private
health sectors in Kenya. Healthcare ICT is relatively a new intervention and investment across
the world particularly in Kenya, and therefore, one of KeHIA’s primary interests is to provide
actionable evidence to inform decisions about what, when, and how to invest ICT in healthcare
services delivery in Kenya.
KeHIA is committed to providing well independently researched, quality evidence

expert opinions and advice to inform investments in biomedical informatics development,
implementation and meaningful use.
Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Events Manager to oversee and organize high-impact
events. You’ll ensure events are managed and executed successfully and cost-effectively, paying
attention to budget and time constraints.
Responsibilities
● Managing events with a consortium of partners
● Prepare event budgets and ensure adequate budget management
● Source and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers
● Ensure seamless coordination of event guests and partners

● Develop a communications plan for the event and lead promotional activities for the
event.
● Coordinate all planning activities with the project teams to ensure cohesion of event
activities with the session plans
● Attend all planning meetings related to the planning and coordination of the event
● Provide regular progress reports on the event planning process
● On-site events management and troubleshooting during the events
● Post-event analysis
● Prepare an event report at the end of each event planned
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
● Proven experience as an event manager for large corporate events
● Proven experience with managing teams
● Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
● Strong interpersonal skills
● Excellent time management and organizational skills
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
● Proficiency in Google Suite
