Job Title: Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented EHS Officer with a specialization in environmental safety.
  • This entry-level role will support the implementation and management of environmental safety programs, assist with regulatory compliance, and contribute to creating a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
  • The successful candidate will gain valuable experience while supporting senior HSE staff and learning best practices in environment, health and safety management.

Key Responsibilities
Support Environmental Safety Management:

Talent acquisition software
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring environment, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Help conduct environmental risk assessments and audits under the guidance of senior HSE staff.

Regulatory Compliance Assistance:

  • Support in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Assist in preparing and organizing compliance documentation and reports for regulatory bodies.

Training and Awareness:

  • Help organize and deliver training sessions on environment, health and safety topics to employees.
  • Assist in promoting awareness of environment, health and safety practices through internal communications.

Incident Reporting and Management:

  • Support investigations of environmental incidents and accidents, including data collection and preliminary analysis.
  • Assist in documenting incidents and tracking corrective and preventive actions.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain records of environment, health and safety activities, including audits, inspections, and training sessions.
  • Provide administrative support for environment, health and safety programs, including data entry and report preparation.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Assist in coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders on environment, health and safety issues.
  • Support in addressing environment, health and safety queries and providing general assistance as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in environment, health and safety or a related role is preferred, but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards is advantageous
