ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

To drive our strategic growth strategy, we are looking for technical, dynamic, self-driven and resilient individual to fill the positions below to in our processing factory in Bombo.

Position: Electrical Technician

Report to: Plant Supervisor

Location: Bombo District, Uganda

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing various tasks such as machine installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on production machinery to ensure continuous operation. Diagnoses electrical faults, replaces components, and conducts tests to restore functionality.

Collaborates with teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.

Adheres to safety protocols and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate maintenance records. Contributes to a safe and efficient work environment through effective communication and teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery.
  • Operate tools in order to aid in the manufacturing process.
  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
  • Operate/ monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
  • Perform periodic checks on equipment and solve problems as detected
  • Work with others in order to ensure that equipment is in proper working order.
  • Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/ TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Electrical or related Technical Engineering
  • Combination of additional education and experience.
  • Experience as a Machine Operator
  • Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computer skills, and mechanics.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others.
  • Proficiency with hand tools.
  • Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical stamina and strength
