Electrical Technician – Kenchic Thika plant
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The job holder will be responsible for electrical repairs, maintenance of plant facilities and equipment. The roles require timely completion of assignments while ensuring a smooth workflow and adherence to procedures and safety guidelines.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for executing electrical repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
- Conduct troubleshooting to identify electrical machinery issues and offer diagnostic support, Perform repairs on all electrical/electronic equipment once failure occurs.
- Complete all assigned job cards or work orders within the set timelines and escalate when necessary. Log all relevant information relating to job cards and logbooks as required. Review and communicate approximate work completion timelines when need arises.
- Carry out all the types of maintenance as per laid down procedures with guidance from the electrical supervisor.
- Responsible for overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) across plant operations and maintaining an agreed OEE operations target.
- Attend and participate in management meetings as necessary.
- Maintain an efficient and safe working environment for all employees while ensuring compliance to statutory, regulatory and third-party requirements, norms and guidelines including but not limited to FSSC 22000 and OSHA.
REQUIREMENTS
A Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
At least 2 years experience as an electrical technician in plant operations; with 1 year experience in an FMCG environment.
Conversant with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite is required.
