Summary Of Role
This Driver role is a temporary position up to 30th November 2025 based in Kampala and will be responsible for transporting staff and vehicle maintenance, reporting to the Senior Administration Officer.
Responsibilities
- Drive PATH assigned vehicles from time to time while transporting staff to designated and approved destinations as and when required for PATH business.
- Perform daily inspections of vehicles and maintain accurate vehicle logs to record fuel consumption, mileage, repairs, and other reports as required services.
- Ensure vehicles are used for project purposes only and any irregularities or misuse is reported
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality during working hours.
- Inform the Snr Administration Officer , in writing, in a timely manner of all accidents, incidents, breakdowns, mechanical failures, faulty equipment or suspected defective or malfunctioning equipment
- Be capable of providing minor mechanical services to assigned vehicle.
- Understand and be capable of providing first aid in case of a minor accident and/or when found appropriate during travels.
- Strictly adhere to organizational and donor policies and procedures and of inform other staff of PATH travel and fleet policies.
- Follow the traffic and related laws of Uganda while executing PATH transportation assignments.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Minimum of an O’ Level certificate of Education or an equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience working as a driver in a reputable organisation.
- Experience working with a donor-funded project is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of scope of the above assignment will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of basic auto repair/mechanics.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to professionally interact with staff and other stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Reading and writing skills to complete administrative tasks and perform other duties
- Aware of child safeguarding principles and guidelines.
