Driver

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Driving Duties

• Operate company vehicles safely to transport passengers, goods, or materials to and from specified locations.

• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe and efficient transportation.

• Maintain a clean driving record and follow company policies regarding driving

practices.

2. Vehicle Maintenance

• Perform routine inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.

• Report any mechanical issues or damage to vehicles promptly to ensure timely repairs.

• Keep vehicles clean and well-maintained, both inside and out.

3. Safety

• Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.

• Report any safety hazards or concerns to management promptly.

• Attend training sessions or meetings on safe driving practices and emergency procedures.

4. Compliance

• Ensure vehicle insurance is up to date and latest sticker is visible in the vehicles.

• Comply with company policies and procedures and legal regulations governing transportation and vehicle operation in Kenya.

• Stay up to date on relevant laws and regulations affecting commercial driving.

5. Route Planning

• Plan and map out efficient routes in advance to reach destinations on time, considering factors such as traffic, weather, and road conditions.

• Use GPS devices or navigation apps to navigate unfamiliar routes and ensure timely arrivals.

6. Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and expenses related to vehicle operation.

• Complete required paperwork, such as delivery receipts, accurately and on time.

• Follow company procedures for documenting vehicle inspections, maintenance, and incidents.

• Ensure vehicle parking fees account is up to date on payments.

• Ensure vehicle express way account is up to date on payments.

• Adapt to changes in schedules, routes, or assignments as needed to meet the company’s transportation needs.

• Be prepared to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, if required.

• Maintain open and effective communication with dispatchers, supervisors, or other team members to coordinate schedules and relay important information.

• Provide regular updates on the status of deliveries or transportation assignments as required.

• Represent the company professionally and positively.

• Uphold high standards of conduct and integrity while interacting with colleagues, customers, and the public.

• On-Time and accurate delivery/pickup and drop off

• Fuel efficiency – achieve or exceed the vehicle’s standard fuel efficiency rating.

• Customer satisfaction – Average satisfaction score from employees’ feedback on the driver’s service
