Background
The Government of Uganda, through the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA), received financing from the European Union (EU) under the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) to support the Development of Coffee and Cocoa Value Chains so that they could realise their full potential under the project “Coffee and Cocoa Value Chains Development (CoCoDev) in Uganda.
The general objective of CoCoDev is to contribute to the Ugandan transition towards an inclusive, green and competitive low-carbon economy by creating decent green jobs in several vital sectors laid down in the Uganda Green Growth Development Strategy.
Uganda Coffee Development Authority Contracted Q-sourcing Limited to provide recruitment services for the open position.
Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
The project seeks to recruit a driver for the duties and responsibilities listed below.
Job Title: Driver
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Duty Station: UCDA Headquarters, Kampala
Purpose of the Position:
The Driver will drive the vehicle to designated places and provide other support services, such as mail delivery and basic mechanical issues, such as small vehicle service requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring safe custody of the vehicle.
- Ensuring that the vehicle is regularly cleaned.
- Obeying all traffic regulations.
- Drive the Project vehicle during assigned official duties.
- Make requests for service of the vehicle when required.
- Update and maintain the vehicle log book daily.
- Report any defects, accidents and mechanical defaults to relevant authorities.
- Performing any other relevant duties assigned by the Project Coordinator.
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- A Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least a pass in English Language.
- Clean driving license with CM classes.
- At least five years of driving experience in a reputable organization.
- Must have passed a competency driving test by the Ministry of Works and Transport or an equivalent institution
- Training in motor vehicle mechanics is an added advantage.

Ability to work long hours.
