Job Title: Debt Recovery Officer.

Job Summary:

The Debt Recovery Officer will be responsible for managing and recovering overdue payments from clients, ensuring the company maintains healthy cash flow. In a manufacturing setting, this role requires an understanding of client relationships, credit management, and adherence to company policies and industry regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with internal departments such as sales, finance, and legal to mitigate financial risks while fostering positive client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

· Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts through calls, emails, letters, and visits.

· Develop and implement strategies to recover outstanding payments while maintaining client

relationships.

· Negotiate repayment plans and terms with clients to resolve debt issues amicably.

· Analyze client payment histories to identify potential risks and delinquent accounts.

· Maintain accurate records of payment statuses, communications, and recovery actions in the system.

· Coordinate with the sales and finance teams to address disputes or discrepancies related to invoices.

· Liaise with the legal team to escalate cases requiring litigation or other formal recovery measures.

· Prepare regular reports on recovery progress, delinquency rates, and resolved cases for management

review.

· Provide insights and recommendations for improving debt recovery processes and minimizing

financial risk.

· Ensure all recovery activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

· Protect client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards during all recovery efforts.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in debt recovery, credit control, or accounts receivable, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and payment trends.
  • Knowledge of relevant debt recovery laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Results-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ethical and professional approach to dealing with clients.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in debt recovery within the manufacturing sector.
  • Familiarity with supply chain and production cycles related to client payment behavior.
