Role:
Lead the creation and maintenance of robust database structures, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and data security. Optimize performance, manage security, and plan for disasters while leading the database team.
Key Result Areas:
- Lead creation of strong database structures for bank operations, ensuring they’re scalable, efficient, and maintain data integrity
- Manage routine tasks like backups and updates to keep databases stable and secure, minimizing downtime and data loss
- Monitor and optimize database performance for quick response times in critical operations through query tuning and index optimization
- Develop and maintain comprehensive plans to minimize the impact of database failures or disasters and ensure uninterrupted Banking services
- Forecast future database needs based on business growth and technological trends and scale infrastructure accordingly, balancing demand with cost-effectiveness
- Manager a team of database administrators, providing guidance, training, and feedback to maintain high expertise and productivity
- Keep detailed documentation of database setups, procedures, and policies, and regularly update stakeholders on performance, security, and compliance effortsAny
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the line manager
Education and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Business Computing, Computer Science, Software Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Required Experience and Competences:
- Five (5) years’ experience in managing enterprise databases in a large financial institution or a reputable organization of which 3 years must have been at database supervision position CCNA training.
