The Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa is an institution of Aga Khan Health Service (AKHS), Kenya which is an Agency of Aga Khan Development Network. The Hospital is part of an integrated health system that includes Hospitals and outreach health centers across East Africa. AKHS is one of the most comprehensive private not-for-profit health care systems in the developing world.
The Hospital seeks to recruit an ideal candidate for the following position: –
Data Officer – Statistician (1 position)
Reporting to the Quality and Patient Safety Manager, the incumbent will provide routine data management operations including supporting timely data collection and entry, performing data quality checks at all data points, data processing, in-depth data analysis, and storage of data across AKHM.
Job Summary
Ability to be at the forefront of data analysis and statistical modeling within the organization. Being able to collect, process, and analyze complex data sets to support decision-making and strategic planning. Being able to work closely with various departments to understand their data needs, develop statistical models, and provide actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Data collection, analysis, and presentation in a centralized database.
- Undertake validation and verification of all AKHM data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency in data quality.
- Timely submission of reports in reference to the agreed timelines.
- Maintaining archives of all the databases created.
- Uploading, formatting, and updating quality & patient-related documents (Policies, Plans, and Trainings &
- Abbreviations) on the intranet.
- Aggregates Institutional and Departmental Key performance indicators (KP|s)
- Maintaining and keep up to date an online list of all policies and forms (Number and Revision)
- Steward use of organizational resources
Required qualifications, attributes, and experience
- Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Management Information System
- Relevant Degree/ Diploma in Social Sciences/BBIT
- Minimum of 2 years work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft office; excel, power point, word, publisher & Vision.
- Proficient in the use of Statistical tools; SPSS and other IT applications.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skill
- Highly discrete and exercise confidentiality
