About The Role

  • Accurate forecasting, ordering of all tax stamps;
  • Following through to ensure a GRN is done, and payment made for all stamp orders with appropriate documentation;
  • Collection of paper stamps from SICPA;
  • Reconcile amounts disbursed to URA vs stamps received, including reconciling Digital codes received for local beer vs actual posting on SICPA machine and provide evidence of receipt;
  • Review and validate the shift report source documents both for Beer packaging and IDU including review of applicable documentation e.g., BDNs.
  • Daily manual activation of paper stamps applied by DHL for all imports, including locally manufactured goods to extent applicable;
  • Periodically review DTS Standard Operating Procedures and processes, and functional DTS Work Instructions to ensure full compliance and any draft updates necessary;
  • Own the DTS stocktaking process;
  • Collect, collate, and review signed off DTS rejects forms for submission to URA on a monthly basis;
  • Oversee the process of URA verification of damaged paper stamps;
  • Maintain a reconciliation of stamps received from stores, used for manual application, damages returned to stores and stamp balances at hand;
  • Review the weekly DTS reconciliations for the various functional departments;
  • Prepare the overall monthly end to end and detailed DTS reconciliation, including a reconciliation between URA DTS activation report, production reports, and SICPA rejects forms at a brand level and investigation and follow up on differences;
  • Circulate the monthly DTS reconciliation and follow up for review and approval;
  • Perform weekly walk abouts to the different DTS areas to verify and validate information, identify DTS risks, and engage Tax manager and other stakeholders where necessary;
  • Engage various internal stakeholders on DTS related matters;
  • Setting up DTS meetings including tracking follow up actions;
  • Conduct systems review and audits of the various DTS platforms e.g., SAP, DTS web portal, DHL DTS web portal; and
  • Participate in DTS audits and investigations as and when requested and report findings.

Experience / Skills Required

  • Bachelors degree – Business fields
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in an operational environment with previously held responsibility for Data Analytics.
  • Knowledge of the Tax system as an added advantage
