Customer Insights Lead

Position Overview:

The Customer Insight Lead will play a critical role in researching consumer behaviors, identifying new product opportunities, conducting internal retail research, and managing retail audits. This individual will leverage their strong analytical skills and research background to gather and analyze data, generate actionable insights, and inform strategic decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research to understand consumer preferences, market trends, and competitive landscape, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Identify and evaluate new product opportunities in the market through market analysis, customer surveys, focus groups, and trend research.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and sales, to translate consumer insights into innovative product concepts and features.
  • Lead internal retail research initiatives to track product performance, monitor sales trends, and gather feedback from retail partners and customers.
  • Develop and implement retail audit processes to assess product availability, pricing, and visibility across various retail channels.
  • Analyze retail audit data to identify opportunities for improvement, optimize product placement, and enhance brand visibility in stores.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets, identify patterns, and extract actionable insights to drive business growth.
  • Present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders in clear, concise, and compelling formats, including written reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our understanding of the market and identify growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, Market Research, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • years of experience in customer insights, market research, or related roles, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Proven track record of conducting consumer research, market analysis, and retail audits to inform business decisions and drive growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and extract actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in research methodologies, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools/software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Python, Tableau).
  • Experience with retail audit tools and platforms (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Retail Link) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for uncovering customer insights and driving business results.
