Credit Officer – Collections

United Women Sacco is a regulated Non-Withdrawable Deposit taking Sacco with a diverse membership of professional and business persons. We seek to recruit a dynamic and self-driven individual to fill the position.

The successful candidate shall implement credit policies and procedures pertaining to loan recoveries.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Identify delinquent loans and send all notices to the loanees and guarantors
  • Follow up remittances and variance for assigned loan portfolio.
  • Ensure prompt recovery of all loans under the assigned portfolio as well as ensuring all legal processes are followed in line with the recovery.
  • Aggressively follow up on defaulted loans and undertake field visits where necessary for recovery activities.
  • Liaise with Credit Manager for repossession and liquidation of charged collaterals.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements/plans with customers who have delinquent loans.
  • Timely submission of all defaulters reports which includes recoveries of all loan categories and loan classification movements.
  • Ensure smooth Liaison with Lawyers, debt collectors & Auctioneers as per their SLAs to facilitate execution of their mandates.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports of allocated portfolio indicating the portfolio at risk.
  • Preparing defaulters list for onward forwarding to CRB and external debt collectors.

 

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • A Degree in Commerce / Business Administration or any other related field or A Diploma in Co-operative Management.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the financial sector carrying out debt collection and recoveries functions.
  • Certified Credit Professional (CCP) course will be an added advantage.

Key Skills & Competences:

  • Willingness to learn and be flexible in the working arrangements.
  • Use initiative to plan own work schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Excel spread sheets & MS Word.
  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as member of the team and multi-task.
  • Self-driven and proactive in collection activities.
