Are you an experienced professional in debtors collections and looking for an exciting opportunity in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector? We are seeking a dynamic and Credit Officer to join our team.

Location: Dar es Salaam

Job Description:

As a Credit Officer, you will be responsible for the efficiently manage the collection of payments from business debtors, ensuring daily targets are met and accurately documented, while maintaining up-to-date accounts receivable records and providing exceptional customer service. This role also involves addressing client queries, facilitating overdue payment recovery, and promoting the company’s products and services through effective marketing and business consultation efforts. Additionally, ensure all collected payments are promptly submitted or deposited as per company guidelines and perform other related tasks as directed by management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To collect not less than 500k Tsh per day from business debtors within given territory and to issue accurate receipts to the given collection and submit the collected payments to the company cashier or deposit the collections to the authorized company bank account under guidance of team leader.
  • Updating of client’s credit portfolio with maintenance of accounts receivable records of clients’ credit transactions.
  • To follow up on the clients long overdue and facilitate its recovery.
  • To listen to the clients queries and provide appropriate solutions to them.
  • To submit cash collection daily to the office or deposit in the company bank account as per management instructions.
  • To provide customer care services, business consultation to clients and training towards company products and services.
  • Marketing of company products and services.
  • Perform other company related tasks as assigned by supervisor / management.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate/Diploma of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Microfinance, Banking Marketing and Entrepreneurship, law, Economic,
  •  Education and Public Administration and Management or Business-related studies from a well credible and government recognized institution, further college education is an added advantage.
  • At least 1 year experience in credit operations.
  • Must own and know how to use a smart phone and its application.
  • Computer applications literacy is essential.
  • Young, flexible and energic.
  • Good communication and marketing skills.
  • Strong persuasive language and influence to ensure high collections volume and maintain good customer relationship.
  • Good in team work and work individually under minimum supervision
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with ambitions to exceed targets and clients’ expectations.
  • A person of good faith, loyalty with high financial discipline and integrity.
  • Familiarity with Dar es salaam environment and willingness to relocate.
