We are looking for a Country Finance Manager reporting to the Regional Chief Finance Officer. The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
The purpose of the role is to drive financial leadership in the country, be a trusted Business Partner to the organisation in driving the country business decisions to maximize value creation. The Country Finance Manager is overall accountable for the finance organisation in the country including day to day management of country finance teams and driving employee engagement. This position will provide you with an opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the region, protecting and enhancing our external reputation and proactively transform the finance function.
Your responsibilities
- Review of the Finance team, development, procedures, controls, and reporting.
- Plan, organize, and execute financial tasks and projects for the company. Review departmental and company processes to identify gaps and propose mitigation strategies.
- Efficiently manage coffee inventory through the implementation of robust controls, continuous monitoring, and accurate reporting of inventory positions.
- Conduct ongoing and comprehensive tax checks and compliance reviews for all business entities.
- Ensure proper and optimal management of transfer pricing documentation to align transactions with local and international regulations.
- Implementation of new Group Tax Centre (GTC) system for all Kenyan entities.
- Manage direct cost accruals to ensure accuracy and completeness in computations.
- Manage the accounting team and ensure departmental targets are met.
- Ensure that proper books of accounts are kept in accordance with the local law and international financial reporting standards.
- Lead the month-end closing process and ensure timely financial reporting.
- Coordinate finance related activities between companies and ensure proper procedures are maintained through physical visits to the different stations.
- Plan and oversee the annual audit process and any other audits.
- Coordinate tax matters, risk assessment and cost control.
- Provide financial information and analysis to management, and others upon request.
- Plan, organize and execute financial tasks and projects of the companies.
- Formulate, implement, and monitor the annual business plans including the provision of rolling forecasts and budgets.
- Identifying and reporting on any incidences of non-compliance with laid down financial systems and financial risks facing the company; and proactively playing a role in mitigating the risks.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure financial and related regulations are complied with, including support to General Management.
- Liaise with regional office on matters finance and implementation of Group policies and procedures.
- Coordinate departmental activities that enhance productivity and the general well-being of the companies.
- Liaise with external parties on matters related to accounts.
- Ensure optimal and smooth operation of the company’s accounting systems by continuously reviewing their operations and recommending additional functionalities.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by your manager.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or any business-related degree.
- CPA /ACCA/CFA/CA Qualification and membership to a Professional Body
- Relevant financial experience as an FBP with a multinational organisation, working as part of a business leadership team or in a consulting firm.
- Demonstrate business knowledge
- Intercultural competence and strong communication skills with the ability to build positive work relationships with all stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), experience with SUN system is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
