Reporting to: Community superintendent

Duration: Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the initiation and implementation of CSR projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the Local Employment Plan in accordance with the Barrick CR Standard.
  • Record and resolve grievances related to mine operations in line with Barrick’s policies and standards.
  • Raise awareness of grievance mechanisms for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
  • Identify and address business-related community issues and evaluate alternative solutions to resolve or mitigate such problems.
  • Coordinate community engagement, mediation, and consensus problem-solving.
  • Contribute to a safe and effective working environment.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social studies/Community Relations or a related field.
  • Valid Tanzanian driving license and the ability to drive manual vehicles (Mandatory).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in community development and public relations in the mining or related industry.
  • Must have 2-3 years of driving experience with no accident records (Manual Vehicle Driving and be willing to undergo) a driving test to demonstrate your skills.

Skills / Knowledge Requirements

  • Excellent communication in English, both writing and verbal
  • Knowledge of grievances or conflict resolution would be an added advantage.
  • Computer literacy, including basic knowledge of MS Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management.
  • Reporting and report writing.
  • Documentation and document management.
  • Facilitation and presentation skills
