Job Title: Communications Assistant (Female Candidates Only)

Job Summary:
The Communications Assistant will support Action Life’s communication and engagement initiatives across various platforms, including online radio and social media. This role involves producing innovative, impactful, and culturally resonant content aimed at youth and women audiences, while promoting Action Life’s programs and thematic areas in the blue economy, peacebuilding, health, and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation & Social Media Management:
- Develop and schedule engaging content for Action Life’s social media platforms, including ive Twitter (X) Spaces sessions, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Create impactful multimedia content, including images, videos, and short audio stories to share updates, success stories, and organizational milestones.
- Assist in managing Action Life’s online radio sessions, including curating topics, moderating discussions, and promoting interactive sessions with the community.
- Online Radio Production:
- Coordinate and produce regular online radio segments, including podcasts, that focus on Action Life’s core thematic areas.
- Engage community members, program beneficiaries, and experts to feature in interviews, testimonials, and live discussions.
- Ensure that all radio content is culturally appropriate, educational, and aligns with Action Life’s mission and values.
- Live Event Coordination & X Spaces:
- Host and moderate live discussions on Twitter (X) Spaces, fostering real-time engagement and conversations on themes relevant to Action Life’s programs.
- Collaborate with program teams to plan virtual and in-person events, webinars, and community Q&A sessions to increase program visibility and community participation.
- Public Relations & Media Support:
- Support press release drafting and media briefings for Action Life events and newsworthy activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with local media, community influencers, and key stakeholders to maximize Action Life’s public profile.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Communications or related field
- 3+ years in a communications role, ideally with NGOS
- Skilled in multimedia creation and online engagement tools
- * Culturally aware with a passion for community outreach
