Are you a financial expert who is passionate about financial solutions, and leadership in supporting the finance team as a Commercial Lead in a busy environment that offers required solutions to the team and entire business processes in an efficient and effective manner? We are looking for someone with mid-level experience in financial function as a Commercial Lead to support the finance team. As a Commercial lead, you shall be expected to support DHL Supply Chain, Kenya in providing Financial and Commercial support to Kenya Transport operations.

About The Role Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide financial and commercial support to Kenya Transport Contracts.

Participates in the Strategic planning process thereby making sure that all business decisions make economic sense.

  • Effective financial management of transport contracts. This includes accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L analysis and annual budgeting.
  • Direct & control the contract’s overall Financial Plans and Policies, Internal controls, Accounting Practices and Relationships. Also making sure that compliance is adhered to.
  • Accountable for functions such as Forecast/Budgeting, Management accounting, and Cost accounting.
  • Develops and coordinates necessary and appropriate accounting and statistical data and procedures for the maintenance and preparation of its financial/Commercial reports.
  • Appraises operating results in terms of benchmark budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans and coordinates appropriate action plans
  • Development of support financial staff. Making sure that my direct reports have the necessary skills and tools to execute assigned responsibilities satisfactorily.
  • Validate customer solutions are based on existing benchmarks & best practice
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis and stress testing to support “future-proofing” of proposed solutions
  • Develop and present compelling & competitive customer value-based proposals ensuring that accelerated principles have been applied to achieve DSC’s growth, contract retention, and continuous improvement objectives.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce – Accounting option.
  • Qualified Professional Accounts (ACCA, CPA, CA).
  • Professional Course in Insurance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Commercial breadth, i.e., general management experience
  • Project management (From a finance perspective).
  • Track record of strong P&L understanding.
  • Management Accounting and Activity Based Costing Experience.
