Location: Kampala, Uganda
Duration: Full-time, 1-year contract – renewable based on performance
Gross Pay: Ugx60,000,000 per annum

About ACSI: The Africa Coalition for Social Impact (ACSI) is a collaborative network of
grassroots organizations committed to maximizing community-led response and development
initiatives. ACSI fosters a holistic approach to sustainable development, emphasizing the
leadership of local grassroots initiatives.
Role Overview: The Coalition Coordinator is a pivotal role within ACSI, responsible for
leading and executing the functions of the ACSI secretariat. Reporting to the Coalition
Steering Committee and being the most senior employee, the Coalition Coordinator will play
a key role in shaping the organization’s strategy, fostering collaboration among members, and
driving the overall impact of community-led programs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Coordination:
• Provide visionary leadership, guiding the organization in alignment with ACSI’s
mission and values.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of strategic plans to advance the
coalition’s objectives.
• Facilitate the organization of quarterly Coalition Steering Committee meetings.

Provide updates/reports and propose actions. Present issues that require decision-
making by the Steering Committee and propose actions.

2. Member Collaboration:
• Foster a collaborative environment among ACSI members.
• Facilitate regular joint planning sessions,
• Lead Technical Working Groups and ensure regular engagement with member
representatives to ensure the latest practice and research are being accessed,
developed, and actioned.
• Encourage knowledge-sharing and promote a culture of mutual support among
grassroots organizations.
• Build a wider movement to strengthen health, education, and livelihood outcomes.
3. Programme Development, Planning and Oversight
• Map coalition member initiatives and programmes that address Health, Education and
Livelihoods to provide clarity on unmet needs and areas for future focus.

• Support the Coalition members in identifying catalytic areas for programme
expansion and opportunities for funding.
• Institute a practice of joint project planning with coalition members through the
packaging of existing and new initiatives in support of the coalition’s Strategy.
• Oversee the execution of holistic community programs, ensuring alignment with
ACSI’s mission.
• Monitor program impact and provide guidance to optimize outcomes.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government
bodies, NGOs, and donors to secure opportunities for collaboration and / or influence
in the Health, Education and Livelihoods sectors.
• Represent ACSI at relevant forums and events.
• Act as the key liaison between the Coalition and other coalitions.
• Ensure that evidence is adequately produced and used to advocate for good practices
with key stakeholders. Encourage and facilitate the active and regular sharing of good
practice externally from the ACSI Coalition
5. Mobilizing & Managing Resources
• Identify funding opportunities to resource and expand the funding available to support
the implementation of the ACSI Strategy
• Build relations with potential donors, and lead or support new proposal development
alongside ACSI members’ business development teams.
• Manage budgets and timely reporting to existing / new donors as required, and
coordinate partner reporting.
6. Advocacy & Communications
• Set up and curate information sharing platform for lessons learnt, case studies,
reports, and other key documents for coalition members.
• Lead development of publications for external engagement and establish and manage
protocols for publishing and branding under ACSI.
• Collate and disseminate key data from members on initiatives that contribute to the
ACSI Strategy
• Develop media partnerships and social media strategies; oversee production of regular
ACSI media pieces in support of the ACSI Coalition strategy.
• Mobilise the ACSI members to collectively advocate and influence key policy/ issues identified

Qualifications:
• University degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, or a related
field. Master’s degree or a minimum of 10 years related work experience.
• Strong understanding and experience with Civil Society Organisation Networks.

• Experience in resource mobilization, project management, and a strong understanding
of grassroots organizations.
• Proven leadership experience in a similar role, preferably within a coalition or
network of organizations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including influencing, negotiation,
steering, and coaching.
• Demonstrated success in managing, coaching, and/or supervising staff, building and
leading teams, and facilitating collaborative work environments, and group projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Training in Project Management, Community Development, Advocacy,
Communications, or any relevant field.
• Demonstrated conflict mitigation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in data collection, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.
• Proficient in software programs including Teams, Zoom, OneDrive, SharePoint,
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Excellent team-building skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Must be available to travel up to 50% of the time and legally work in Uganda.
